Shift Payday
test model · v24Balances are what the bank shows. Type them in Setup, or tap a figure to change it.
Two minutes on payday
Pick your overtime, see the check, tick each step as the money moves, and know whether the bills account makes it to the next check.
Nothing here leaves this device. Start with your own numbers, or load a sample to see how it works.

The deposit landing, each transfer, each bill you pay by hand. Balances at the top follow. Amounts can be changed for this payday only.
Bills and deposits
Everything that hits the bills account on a schedule. Deposits that aren't your paycheck — a partner's check, a benefit — go here too.
Next five weeks
Every scheduled item against your pay dates, with the bills account's running balance. Uses this payday's check as set, overtime from the shift calendar for later paydays (none otherwise), envelopes filled on each payday, and no sweep to savings.

Put your rotation on a calendar, add overtime as you pick it up, and the payday's overtime hours fill themselves in. Leave accrues and draws down here too.

Year to date
Paychecks this year
The stub's year-to-date line is the anchor; each payday the app records after it is added on. Scheduled paydays it never saw are listed so you can add them.

Take-home per overtime hour is what actually lands after taxes and deductions. Add a paystub below and both figures are worked out for you, or start with a guess and correct it once a real check arrives.
Paystubs
One stub gives an estimate of your take-home with no overtime and per overtime hour. Two stubs with different overtime measure them exactly. Only the pay lines are kept — no names or ID numbers.
Paycheck model
Figures each check the way payroll does: percentage deductions on the gross, flat ones as-is, Medicare on wages after pre-tax health, and federal withholding from the IRS 2026 tables. That is what makes a 48-hour check come out lower per hour than a 12-hour one. Fit it to your stubs, then correct anything that doesn't match your W-4.
Fit adjustment is whatever is left after the tables are applied — a few dollars is normal rounding; a big number means the W-4 settings above are wrong. Taxable extras: look for a line like GRP LIFE in the employer column of the stub; payroll counts it as wages for Medicare and federal tax.
Accounts
The bills account is where the paycheck lands and every bill drafts from. Overtime above the base check is swept to savings once the account is safe.
Envelopes
Separate accounts that get a fixed amount every payday — groceries and gas, a partner's spending, your own. Their balance is the budget.
Catch-up
Past-due bills and one-time payments. While any of these are open, overtime stays in the bills account instead of going to savings.
Shift calendar
Tap any day on the calendar to mark it on or off, add overtime hours, or take leave. Overtime on the calendar becomes that payday's overtime automatically; you can still override it on the Payday tab. The pay-period figure comes from a stub: if the period ends Sept 5 and the pay date is Sept 2, enter 3. Leave in days means one day is one shift — a 24 for a firefighter, a 12 for a nurse — and balances, earning and the calendar all count that way; each leave type can still be switched on its own.
Leave types
A stub sets the balance but not the earning rate. Type the rate here — from your contract or the payroll site — or paste a second, older stub and it is measured from the two.

About this test model
A payday routine for people whose paycheck changes every pay period. No bank connection — you type balances on payday and the bank stays the source of truth. Everything is stored in this browser on this device and is never sent anywhere. It's a planning tool, not financial advice. Reading a paystub photo sends that photo to Claude, with your permission, to pull out the pay lines; the photo itself isn't kept.
To keep it one tap away: open the share menu in your phone's browser and choose Add to Home Screen.
